Afisa mmoja wa polisi nchini Kenya aliyetajwa na kutuhumiwa kuhusika na shambulio la Jumamosi ya Septemba 21, 2013 katika jengo la maduka la Westgate huko jijini Nairobi, Kenya, amejisalimisha mikononi mwa polisi na kuhojiwa.
Mohamed Hussein, askari wa zamani wa kikosi cha jeshi la Kenya, General Service Unit (GSU) na mlinzi wa Jaji wa Mahakama Kuu, alijisalimisha mikononi mwa polisi huko Wajir asubuhi ya Jumatatu na kutoa maelezo ya utetezi kuwa

Ofisa wa polisi wa kikosi cha kupambana na ugaidi katika eneo hilo amesema walimhoji mtuhumiwa huyo kwa muda na kisha kumwachia baada ya kujiridhisha kuwa siye aliyeonekana kwenye camera za siri (CCTV) akifyatulia wateja risasi.
Mkuu wa kikosi cha upelelezi cha jijini Nairobi, Nicholas Kamwende ambaye ni miongoni mwa wanaounda timu ya wapelelesi wa shambulio hilo, alisema wamethibitisha kuwa Mohamed Hussein ni mzima na hakuhusika katika shambulio tajwa. “That was speculation because he has turned himself in, talked to our officers and we can confirm he did not participate in the attack. He is a free man for now,” said Kamwende.
